This riff on a perfect Manhattan swaps out dry vermouth for sweet banana liqueur, and uses Scotch as the base spirit to add balance. Glenmorangie makes particularly light and floral scotch whiskies, making it a wonderful backbone for a scotch cocktail without becoming overpowering.
1.5 oz Glenmorangie Original 10 Year
.75 oz Sweet Vermouth (we used Trincheri Rosso)
.75 oz Creme de Banana (we used Giffard Banan du Bresil)
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
To Build Cocktail: Combine all ingredients in stirring vessel with ice. Stir until properly diluted (approx. 30%). Strain into rocks glass over large format ice, or into coupe to serve up. Express orange oil over cocktail and use peel as garnish.
